Climate change is already having an impact on the society in which we live. The University of Birmingham is playing its part to provide solutions for climate change, and staff at the University are being encouraged to be part of the solution.

A carbon management strategy setting targets for emissions reduction by 2020 has been accepted by University Council. An implementation plan supporting the strategy has been published.


The University is undertaking an increasing amount of research and teaching dedicated to providing solutions for climate change. Find out what research the University is doing and what projects have been put in place to reduce emissions from campus activities.

Get advice on what actions can be taken now to respond to the challenges of climate change.
